Environment and Heredity

852-12 F.18 11/15/35

Environs and hereditary influences are much deeper than that which is ordinarily conceded in the psychology of the present day.

For the environs and the hereditary influences are spiritual as well as physical, and are physical because of the spiritual application of the abilities of the entity in relationship to spiritual development.

For the purpose of each soul’s experience in the earth is to become one with the Creative Forces that manifest in human experience, if [the soul] will but apply [this] in its relationships to its fellow man.

Hence what one is today is because of what one (the individual soul) has done about that the soul knows of the Creative Force or God in its experience, in whatever environ or consciousness it—the soul—may manifest.

The environs then in the earth, in any given experience, are those things that make for the emotional body in that experience.

That which is innate, or that [which] finds expression when the individual soul turns to the Creative Force or God within, arises from the soul’s experience in those environs about the earth.

Study these, and it—the study—will make for a great interest, or greater interest, in the causes of relationships in the earth; or in that which is termed the genealogy of ideas, of individuals, of nations, of those things that go to make up why individuals are born in this or that environment. For that is true genealogy!

816-3 M.51 2/17/35

For while there may be and is in the experience of every soul the urge that is termed hereditary and environmental influence, individuals under the same influence of blood and of rearing (or environment) will respond or react in quite a different manner. This is caused by that deeper urge that is seen from astrological sojourns, as well as the indwelling in the earth under certain or specific experiences.

541-1 F.47 4/28/34

As each soul enters in the earth, there are purposes other than that which may be arising from[the] desire of those that physically are responsible for such an advent.

For, the soul seeks from the realm of spirituality to give expression of that [which] it as an entity or soul may do with its experiences in the mental realm, as well as about that it has done in a physical realm.

Hence the law that is ever present; like attracts like; like begets like. Hence there is the attraction as from the desires of those in the physical calling to the sources of generation in the flesh, to the sources of creation or of spirit in the spiritual realm.

Hence there is often a real purpose in the soul, as in this soul, seeking a period of expression of self; and finding it … when there is the period of presentation. For, while the physical begins at conception, the spiritual and mental is as the first breath taken into the physical—that becomes then a living soul, with a physical organism for manifestation during the sojourn in that particular experience.

Then, what influences such a journey, such an advent of the soul from the unseen
